I have been drawn to photography ever since I was sent to summer camp, at the age of nine, with my very first camera! Landscape photography has always called to me. I am fascinated by light, color and the changes you can see within just a few minutes. The world around us changes so quickly and photography captures those changes if we are aware and know what to look for. Long ago, I started looking at things around me as if I was looking through a camera’s lens.
I do very minimal altering of my photographs using photo editing programs. The very most editing I do is a simple crop or a slight color boost to ensure that my photos truly look like it did at the time I took the original photo. I want my photographs to look as natural as possible.
Living in the Crestone area, I have endless photographic possibilities! Nature and the seasons are magnified here. Most sunsets are a feast for the eyes. The mountains draw our eyes up and the valley has us looking out. I always have my camera with me. I love being able to take photos that I can look back on later and remember the trip or moment in time. I hope I am also doing that for all who visit us in Crestone!
